What’s planned in Lisbon for October 2018?

What’s planned in Lisbon for October 2018? What’s cooking in the amazingly beautiful capital city of Portugal? What pretext can we find to go there again in October?

Well, if pretexts for going to Portugal were ever needed, what I would do is think about the amazing weather first. A bit like Spain, Portugal is also a pretty warm European country, so you should put this destination on the list if you want to get away from the cold and the rain for a while.

Lisbon people like to run from time to time and this October you can actually attend the Lisbon Marathon 2018 on October 14th. Setting off from Cascais, the track takes the contenders all the way to Lisbon in the Parque das Nações. The 42 kilometers of the marathon take you all the way along the Coastal side, the beautiful views of the ocean and the city accompanying you all the way.

You might not have pegged Lisbon as a capital of fashion, but this October for a week or so, it really will become. You are invited to attend Moda Lisabona, a fashion event meant to gather some of the greatest Portuguese designers for this year’s edition of the oldest European independent fashion week. The event is scheduled for October 11th to 14th and will take place in several locations, including the National Art Museum, Lago do Botequim do Rei and the Carlos Lopes Pavillion.

And also the French Embassy together with the Portuguese Cinematheque are preparing for a month-long event: the French Film Festival. This is the 19th edition and you are all invited to see some quality French movies.

If you need a lift, Lisbon airport transfers can come to the rescue anytime. If you need a little more independence still, you can also rent a car in Lisbon for a really accessible rate.
